Maintenance
Keep your door running before it breaks.
Your garage door is probably the biggest moving part of your home, and it moves many times a week. Springs, cables, rollers and hinges wear a little every time. A tune-up finds the worn part before it fails, which is often the difference between a quick fix and an emergency call.
During a tune-up we tighten loose hardware, lubricate the moving parts that need it, inspect the springs and cables, check the door's balance and test the safety features. We also look at rollers, hinges and weatherstripping, and tell you plainly what's fine and what's wearing out.
Some things are safe for you to do between visits: wipe the sensor lenses, keep the tracks clear, and listen for changes in sound. Never touch the springs, cables or bottom brackets. They're under high tension.

How often should I get a garage door tune-up?
A yearly tune-up works well for most homes. Heavily used doors may benefit from more often.
What should I never do myself?
Don't touch the springs, cables or bottom brackets. They're under high tension and can cause serious injury.
What can I safely do between visits?
Wipe the safety sensors, keep tracks clear of debris, and lubricate rollers and hinges with a garage-door lubricant.
Will a tune-up make my door quieter?
Often yes. Many noises come from dry or worn rollers and hinges or loose hardware.
